• Local or general anesthesia is given. You will be under for 3 to 5 hours depending on the scale of the surgery (Local is used for smaller surgeries)
• One to two incisions are made and excess tissue and skin is removed
• Sometimes repositioning of the nipple and areola must occur to ensure symmetry
• Stitches are sewn and you are wrapped in gauze or a surgical bra
• You go home the same day
